I currently have 16 cats, 70 roosters, and 2 Ranchu. My home doubles as The Pidgie Fund and in the past 30 years has been the home of more than 5,000 animals.

Due to my doll making styles, my use of gemstones, and the poltergeist-like abilities Etiole` has (and often uses on anyone who gets too close to me), I am also known as the Sea Witch of Old Orchard Beach.

A Witch is any one who practices magic by use of witchcraft. Magic being defined as the spiritual ability to change the invisible energy forces around you. Changing said energy with the help of such things as herbs, crystals, spirit beings, runes, cards, gemstones, incense, candles, flowers, or other such tools is what is called witchcraft.

Solitaries, practice witchcraft alone. Coventry Witches practice witchcraft in groups of three or more, called covens.

A Sea Witch, is any Witch who lives in a small coastal village and practices Sea Magic. Few Witches ever strive to become a Sea Witch due to it being a type of Grey Witch, and thus requiring knowledge in and the ability to perform Black Magic in addition to White Magic.

Sea Witches tend to be wilder by nature than your average modern day Witch, with long wind swept hair, and flowing salt water beaten clothen. They believe the strength of their powers come from purification by the ocean itself and thus typically bath in the ocean giving them a salty seaweed scent to their skin, hair, and cloths.

Sea Witches typically use old fashioned, highly superstitious-styles of "scary" witchcraft: Familiars (Black Cats, Water Faeries, etc), Effigy Magic (Voodoo Dolls, Wangas, & Poppets), Hexes (Rune symbols drawn in sand or painted on walls), and other forms of "classic witchcraft".

Sea Witches are rarely "true Pagans", and are often former Christians who turned to witchcraft after being outcast by their local community. They are considered Christian by other Witches, but Pagan by other Christians, leading to them being known as Christo-Pagans.

Sea Witchery is considered to be a highly advanced, very difficult, and extraordinarily powerful form of witchcraft, requiring many years of practice in other forms of witchcraft first. As a result it is rare to find a young Sea Witch.

Also known as Hags or Sea Hags, Sea Witches tend to be older Witches, often Crones, and usually Solitaries living a near hermit-like lifestyle. They are what the average non-witch thinks of when they think of witches, hags, or Halloween. It is commonly said by White Witches, Wiccans, and Pagans, that Sea Witches give the rest of the Witch community a bad name, by embodying everything that they try to avoid.

There is much confusion over the name Hedgewitch due to the change in the meaning of the word "hedge". Hedge originally meant: the dimension between the physical world and the spirit world; the dividing line between the two, where beings from either side could enter and communicate with the other. Today a hedge is a type of bush or shrub used to make a fence, so named because it divides two property lines.

Because so few people are well educated, most have no knowledge of the original meanings of half the words they speak in their daily vocabulary. The problem with this is that it causes them to than mistranslates other words which incorporate those same mistranslated words. This has happened with the word Hedgewitch.

The common misconception is that Hedgewitch is another title for a Green Witch, Garden Witch, or Kitchen Witch, because people here the word "hedge" in the word "hedgewitch" and assume this is meant in reference to a green leafy shrub, when in fact it is meant in reference to the fact that a Hedgewitch is a Witch who can cross into the hedge which divides our physical world from the spirit world and has absolutely nothing to do with plants or gardens at all!

A Hedgewitch commonly practices magic with the help of a Familiar, often a Faerie of some sort, which has traveled to our world through the hedge. As such Hedgewitches are commonly said to practice "Faerie Magic", which for some odd reason causes people to assume Faeries are little flowery garden things and so farther causes confusion, with Hedgewitch falsely being defined as a Green Witch.

Hedgewitches living on coastal beaches are sometimes called Covewitches. A cove is a hedge that separates the physical world from the spirit world at an entrance over water, usually the ocean.

Magic comes in White, Grey, Black, Green, and Rainbow. Mostly all you ever hear about is White and Black, which are also referred to as Good and Evil magic. Once in a while you will hear mention of Green magic. Rarely do you ever hear of Grey or Rainbow.

White magic is magic used to benefit (bless) those around you. White Witches live by The Wiccan Creed: "So long as ye harm none, do what ye will." Though most Witches say they use White magic, they often use their magic on themselves, which is contrary to the definition of White magic. This results in the popular definition, that White magic is any magic used for good. This is the type of magic practiced by Wiccans and most Witches in general.

Black magic is used harm (curse) those who have hurt others. It is used out of hate, greed, lust for power, lust for money, vengeance, and to get even with some one. Black Witches are often referred to as Warlocks or Borkas.

Green magic is herbal or medicinal magic, and is any magic which uses plants to heal the sick. It can stand on it's own or be considered a type of White magic. Or when herbs are used to harm, it is considered a type of Black magic. Green Witches are also known as Garden Witches or Kitchen Witches.

Rainbow magic, is also called Flower Magic or Fairy Magic, and uses the use of flowers, color, and scents (aromatherapy) to correct aura and energy imbalances. Rainbow magic is not often seen on it's own and is commonly viewed as a type of Green Magic, and is usually seen as a type of White Magic. It is almost unheard of for Rainbow magic to be used as a type of Black magic.

Grey Magic is the final type. It is seen as a "protective magic".It is a blending of all of the above. A Grey Witch will general practice White magic, but will just as quickly turn to Black Magic when she sees evil people hurting an innocent. Grey magic is a White Witch, who takes Black magic and uses it to protect those who can not protect themselves. A Grey Witch utilizes the hardcore elemental powers of nature, such as the ocean, white water rivers, a volcano, moon phases, electrical storms, or tornadoes. Grey Witches are often highly feared by White Witches and Black Witches and are known for their fiery tempers and quick use of magic for every thing.

Sea magic is any type of magic which utilizes the energy powers of the oceans. Ritual magic performed on the beach, purification baths in the ocean, rune casting with shells, green magic which utilizes seaweed, knotted rope spell casting, and shorebird totem spirits are all examples of Sea Magic.

Because of the ocean's close connection with moon phases and weather changes, Sea Witchery is considered to be a type of Moon Magic as well as a type of Weather Magic.

Most witches avoid practicing Sea Magic as it is a type of Grey Magic (the use of both White and Black Magic) which is thought of as offensive by the average Witch.

A Familiar is a being who possesses magic powers and psychic abilities and uses those powers to aid a Witch in witchcraft. Their are two common types of Familiars: Spirit Familiars and Animal Familiars. Both are very different from each other.

Spirit Familiars are none human beings, often with demi-god like abilities. Angels, Faeries, Aliens, Poltergeists, Demons, and Ghosts are all types of Spirit Familiars.

Spirit Familiars are often possessive, obsessive, irrational, temperamental beings with quick tempers, wild mood swings, and prone to throwing tantrums if everything is not exactly as they expect it to be (thus resulting in poltergeist activities). They commonly take a liking to certain objects (often old houses) or people (often young children, esp girls) and become fiercely protective of any object or being they have claimed as "theirs".

Spirit Familiars are extremely powerful and very dangerous, often possessing the ability to throw heavy objects, start fires, cause electrical storms and tornadoes (even indoors), and draining power out of electronics causing cars to stall, radios to go static and other such events.

These highly emotional beings are very kind and loving towards those they protect, but can quickly turn deadly towards anyone who harms their ward.

Spirit Familiars are extremely rare. They are beings from other realms whom have crossed the hedge between their world and ours and are now trapped here in our world, unable to return home to theirs.

Animal Familiars, are animals which posses strong positive auras and psychic abilities, which affect the energy auras of those around them. These animals are often attracted to humans who also posses strong positive auras, which results in most Witches having one or more Animal Familiars as pets.

Cats (esp black cats) are said to posses the strongest auras, resulting in cats being the most common of all Animal Familiars. Dogs, horses, and birds are the other most commonly seen Animal Familiars.

A Christo-Pagan is an umbrella term given to Christians who fall outside of the main stream of organized religion. Christo-Pagan was not originally a welcome title, but is rather akin to calling an LDS member a Mormon or calling a black man a Niga`. Like Mormon and Niga`, Christo-Pagan is a slang hate name, cast upon those who are perceived as "different".

While Niga` still remains a hate title and is still just as vile to the ears as it was years ago, the titles Mormon and Christ-Pagan, have over the years been accepted by the people being called it, and now there is hardly a Latter Day Saint who does not proudly refer to themselves as a Mormon, and Christo-Pagans are now quick to use the title for themselves.

But what is a Christo-Pagan? Most Christo-Pagans grew up in very strict, very religious, Christian families (75% of Christo-Pagans started out as devote Catholics, Latter Day Saints, or Quakers). These devote church members, however, follow the "old ways" of their faith. As I am myself an LDS Christo-Pagan, I will explain in those lines.

For example a Mormon Christo-Pagan would be calling upon the help of Familiars and use seer stones, just as Joseph Smith himself had done. Like Emma Smith they use herbs and ritual chants to heal the sick. Like Smith and Young, they talk face to face with angels, Jesus, and God himself. They still use the Blessing Cloths of the Saints, just as the early Prophets of the Church did. In keeping with the pre-1979 teachings of the Church, they are farmers, living off the land, homeschooling their children, avoiding contact with Gentiles, women do not wear pant, do not cut their hair, and do not work in jobs outside the home, and the family keeps it's 3 year supply well stocked. They are known as the Orthodox Latter Day Saints, living the Churches rule as it was originally taught in the 1800's, not as it evolved in modern times.

The problem comes in when the Gentiles get baptized into the Church and bring with them their worldly sins and wicked ways, with their public schooled children, their short haired worldly women, their unbelief in physical communion with angels, their anti-Mormon ideas about using seer stones, crystals, herbs, and blessing cloths, and their obsessions with growing wealthy, watching TV and eating meat.

As more and more of these unsaintly Gentiles got baptized into the church, their ways started having more and more influence on the teachings of the church coming out of Salt Lake headquarters, until in 1979, the Prophet enacted countless changes, in order that the church laws would be better adapted to the lifestyles of the Gentiles joining the Church.

I'm old enough to remember the church before 1979. I grew up in the "Old Church" before the change. I grew up in the Church when it taught "Live in the world not of the world", in a time when you could tell a Mormon on the streets from every one else, because they looked, dressed, acted, and talked VERY different from the rest of the world. It's been 30 years since the change in the way Salt Lake Headquarters runs the Church, and now, even the former Gentiles are allowed to have leadership positions, resulting in ever more changes as each year goes by. The LDS Church is quickly, becoming a secular den of people no different from the rest of the world, except for a rare few.

Those old enough to have grown up in the Old Church, didn't change with the new ways. They still believe in living the same way as the Smiths did: as self sufficient farmers in personal one on one communion with the Spirit world. We spend our time in spiritual pursuits, rather than rushing to college and work. Rather than trying to manipulate the world around us, we live at one with it. Unfortunately this causes problems.

The New Converts (those who joined the church after 1979) have their own set of modern ideals about what the Mormon Church "should be" rather than what is was as Smith created it. The New Converts are quick to call themselves "Mormons" rather than "Saints", claiming that "No one call REALLY live the life of a Saint in this day and age." The scoff at the old members who still call themselves "Saints" and still live the life style of a Saint. The New Convert Mormons point at the Old Member Saints and call them "Witches", pointing out that they wear a style of clothes not seen in 200 years, that God Jesus and Angels no longer speak one on one to Church members, that using Seer Stones like Smith did is evil, that the ritual herb healings of Emma were a sham, and that being a self sufficient farmer with no TV is just plain dull and old fashioned.

When the finger of Witch gets pointed often enough at the same member over and over again, it soon becomes a habit of all members in the Ward to single out "the Witch" and spend their time bullying, teasing, and tormenting them, until finally "The Witch" becomes an inactive member, leaving the Mormon Church, because it is no longer the church Smith started but is now a Den of Thieves.

After so many years of being accused of being a Witch, the "Witch" now seeks out other so-called Witches and tries to join up with them, not really knowing what it is a Witch is. Unfortunately, this proves disastrous, as the other witches, are quick to point out that "The Witch" is not a Witch, but a damn Christian, with no business being a witch. And soon the bullying starts again, this time the "Witch" is now being cast out by the witches, for being "A Christian".

And that in the end is what it means to be a Christo-Pagan: A person who is called a Witch by Christians, but a Christian by Witches. One who is too witchy to be a Christian, but too Christian to be a Witch.

As such, I felt I must add this notation here, explaining that I do not personally agree with everything said on these links; for example, some of them define Christo-Paganism as worshiping the Virgin Mary as The Goddess, yet, I do not myself believe in goddess worship, nor do I see turning the Virgin Mary into a Goddess as the definition of the title of Christo-Pagan!

Likewise you will find links claiming that Jesus was a myth, created to overthrow Pagan gods (which is also contrary to my own beliefs) and resulted in the creation of a blend of both religions.

I define Christo-Pagan as I stated above, but wanted to let you know that not every one who calls themselves Christo-Pagan, believes what other Christo-Pagans believe, thus it is not an organized religious group, but rather an umbrella title given to people who are called Witches by Christians, and called Christians by Witches, making them an outcast of both not truly accepted by either.
